Dissociative disorders | A fact sheet

A number of people with mental illnesses experience dissociation: a disturbance of thinking, awareness, identity, consciousness or memory. This fact sheet from NAMI (the National Alliance for Mental Illness) discusses what disassociation is, how it is defined clinically, and what types of treatment are available.
