Eager to learn: Educating our Preschoolers is a comprehensive report from the National Research Council that synthesizes the findings on early childhood education, language acquisition, and emergent skills in reading, writing, mathematics, and science. Read about the science of learning (cognitive development), the impact of cultural variations, preschool program quality, curriculum and pedagogy, assessment, preparation of early childhood professionals, and program and practice standards.
