Russell Gersten, COI-Math Director and Director of the Instructional Research Group, presented at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Annual Meeting & Exposition in Indianapolis, IN, in April 2011. He described the evidence base for response to intervention (RTI) in mathematics and suggested strategies for successful implementation and the pivotal role mathematics teachers can and should play in RTI.
