Alert! Alert! Time to Raid NICHCY’s State Organizations.
It’s now or never, friends.
Because NICHCY’s website will only remain online until September 30, 2014, most of its rich content has moved to a new home, the Center for Parent Information and Resources (CPIR), where it can be kept up to date. But this State Organizations search page is NOT moving. It is going to turn into a pumpkin on NICHCY’s end date. So, if you’d like to raid these lists of resources, which took us decades to assemble, now’s the time.

And here’s how. Download these directions and create your own list of disability help in your state—or any state.

Type of State Organization:

Pick State:

ALL States Alabama Alaska American Samoa Arizona
Arkansas California Colorado Connecticut District of Columbia
Delaware Florida Georgia Guam Hawaii
Idaho Illinois Indiana Iowa Kansas
Kentucky Louisiana Maine Maryland Massachusetts
Michigan Minnesota Mississippi Missouri Montana

Oklahoma Oregon Pennsylvania Puerto Rico Rhode Island
South Carolina South Dakota Tennessee Texas Utah
Vermont Virgin Islands Virginia Washington West Virginia
Wisconsin Wyoming

The offices listed on NICHCY state sheets are primarily state-level offices. Even if an office is not close to your home, they can usually put you in touch with resources in your community, as well as provide you with information and assistance about disability issues in your state.

A Note About Age of Eligibility:
Each state sets eligibility ages for services to children and youth with disabilities. For current information, please contact the office listed under Department of Education: Special Education for the state of interest.
